Your wedding photographs should feel like your day…

Your wedding isn’t a photoshoot — it’s a day full of real moments, real emotion and the people who matter most.

Hi, I’m Graeme, a Scottish Borders wedding photographer based in Hawick. I’ve been photographing weddings professionally for fourteen years (and first picked up a camera at the age of seven, so it’s fair to say it’s in my blood). My approach is simple: capture your story as it naturally unfolds, with just enough gentle guidance when you need it.

The result is a set of photographs that feel genuine, emotional and completely you — never stiff, never forced.

Your photography experience is simple and stress-free:

  1. Get in touch — tell me about your wedding, your family, or your ideas.

  2. Enjoy your session — relaxed, natural, and full of laughter.

  3. Cherish your images — beautiful, lasting photographs you’ll treasure for life.

When you look at your photographs, you’ll feel the moment all over again. That’s what I love most — creating natural, fine-art photography that captures emotion, personality, and the true spirit of your story.

Every session is unique — whether it’s a countryside wedding in the Scottish Borders, an elopement in Edinburgh, or a quiet family portrait at home. My goal is always the same: to give you images you’ll be proud to share and proud to display.

Relaxed photography, without the awkwardness

Most couples tell me the same thing — they don’t want to spend hours posing or worrying about what to do in front of the camera.

So I keep things relaxed. I capture moments as they happen, step in when needed for portraits and group shots, and make sure nothing ever takes over your day. You get natural storytelling and beautiful portraits, without it feeling like hard work.

If you’re after a Borders wedding photographer who feels more like a friend with a camera than a stranger barking orders, you’re in the right place.

A photographer who knows your venue

Being right in the heart of the Scottish Borders means I know the area’s venues and landscapes inside out. Over the years I’ve photographed weddings at Branxholm Park House, Ednam House Hotel in Kelso, Dryburgh Abbey, the Philipburn House Hotel in Selkirk and Mansfield House Hotel here in Hawick — among many others.

While the Borders is home, I regularly travel for weddings across Edinburgh, the Lothians and Northumberland, and I’m happy to go further afield too. (Travel costs apply, with accommodation for longer distances — I’ll always agree the details with you upfront.)

Beautiful albums & keepsakes

Your photographs deserve to be held, not just scrolled. Your album isn’t just a collection of photos — it’s your first family heirloom, something you’ll share with your children and grandchildren.

I offer professional, handcrafted wedding albums as an upgrade, available in 8×8, 10×10 and 12×12, each in its own bespoke presentation case. Matching parent albums are available too, so both families can treasure the day. A smartphone gallery app is also available as an optional upgrade, making it effortless to view and share your favourites wherever you are.

I also offer other wedding keepsakes, such as a personalised signing board — just let me know what you have in mind.

Don’t risk missing the moments

You’d be surprised how often I hear “my uncle is going to take the photos.” It sounds fine at the time, but too often the key moments get missed, or the images just don’t live up to what the day deserved.

Choosing an experienced wedding photographer gives you peace of mind: you’ll know your memories are safe and your story is told beautifully.

Why couples choose me

  • A local who knows the venues — a true Scottish Borders wedding photographer, not someone travelling in for the day
  • A relaxed, friendly approach that puts even the camera-shy at ease
  • Flexible coverage tailored to your plans, with albums and keepsakes to follow
