After a successful session last month I decided to arrange another small portrait photography session in Edinburgh this time with 3 other photographers.
The model was again Emma Yule, who is currently signed with Talent Model Agency.
The session was another GREAT success.
We experimented with several lighting set ups. More photographs to follow, which will show the variation of the lighting.
The photograph to the left was taken with a black backdrop. As with most backdrops it is important to light the hair, in my opinion this is even more essential where your subject has dark hair and you have a dark or black backdrop. Lighting the hair separates the subject from the background.
I used one light off to the left to light Emma’s hair. A large light was placed to the right to light Emma and a reflector used to lighten the shadows on her face slightly. I have to say I think captured a couple of fantastic shots of Emma.
